Response to COVID-19 by Communities In Faith Pastoral Charge of the United Church:

March 20, 2020

Dear Friends,
Canadian National and Provincial leadership are offering regular COVID-19 updates, and our Provincial Health Officer Dr. Henry has announced that gatherings of over 50 people are prohibited.  Our United Church Pacific Mountain Regional leadership recommends that our churches do not meet for Worship services.

We of Communities in Faith Pastoral Charge (CIF) in Rossland and Trail have therefore made the difficult decision to NOT hold Worship services, effective immediately. We know it is very disappointing to lose the spiritual encouragement and the companionship that we enjoy together each week. We are working on ways to stay in touch.

Sunday you can worship at an online service with our UCC Moderator Rev. Richard Bott or with other UCC churches.  Here are two web sites to search:

The Trail United Church Food Bank, considered an essential service, will continue to serve our community on Tuesdays using strict health protocols.  We are also working on how to hold the Downtown Dinner in a safe and healthy way.

We want to stay in touch.  Our office at Trail United Church will remain open as a point of contact, particularly by phone and email. Noelle will be able to help you connect with church groups, people, and services.  If you need help getting medications or groceries, or attending appointments, please call Noelle at (250) 368-3225 to connect with our Pastoral Care team.

Our caring community offers this:
Ferraro Foods (7- 8 am), Liberty Foods (8-9 am) and Shopper’s Drug Mart (7-8 am) are creating reduced risk times for Seniors and immune compromised people to shop!  Thank you!  https://spcstrail.weebly.com

We will bring further news soon. Take good care of yourself and your neighbour.

Blessings,
       Carol Hobbs DeRosa
